1955 Born on February 24 in San Francisco, California. Adopted by Paul and Clara Jobs.
1976 Co-founded Apple Computer with Steve Wozniak and Ronald Wayne, operating out of the Jobs family garage in Los Altos.
1984 Introduced the Macintosh — the first commercially successful mass-market personal computer with a graphical user interface.
1985 Departed Apple to found NeXT Computer, and purchased Pixar's graphics division from Lucasfilm for $5 million.
1997 Returned to Apple as interim CEO following Apple's acquisition of NeXT. Launched the iconic "Think Different" campaign.
2007 Unveiled the original iPhone, fundamentally redefining the smartphone and mobile computing industry.
2011 Passed away on October 5 in Palo Alto, California, following a long battle with pancreatic cancer. He was 56.
